1 Dead in Independence Motorcycle Accident on US Highway 24 and Duvall Avenue

INDEPENDENCE, MO (July 23, 2026) – Wednesday morning, a person died in a brutal motorcycle crash on US Highway 24 and Duvall Avenue.

The incident involving a motorcycle happened at about 1:00 a.m. on US Highway 24 and Duvall Avenue.

Officers responding to the scene found the man off the roadway near a crashed motorcycle. Emergency crews performed life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Preliminary investigators said the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on U.S. 24 when he lost control of the motorcycle. Police said speed appears to have been a contributing factor.
