Fatality Reported in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Blackstone Avenue and Dakota Avenue

FRESNO, CA (December 23, 2025) – Saturday night, a brutal pedestrian crash on Blackstone Avenue and Dakota Avenue killed a man.

The incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Blackstone Avenue and Dakota Avenue.

The man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with his 8-year-old son, police said.

Officers arrived at the scene and performed CPR before EMS took over life-saving efforts. The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died on Sunday.

Police said the driver was traveling south on Blackstone and approaching a green light when she saw two people in the crosswalk against a red signal. Investigators said the driver swerved to avoid hitting the child but struck the man instead.

The driver cooperated with officers and was evaluated by EMS. She and the child were not injured.
