1 Dead in Austin Pedestrian Accident on East Koenig Lane and Airport Boulevard

AUSTIN, TX (January 6, 2026) – Monday morning, a person died in a brutal pedestrian crash on East Koenig Lane and Airport Boulevard.

The incident happened just before 2:00 a.m. when a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk in the 900 block of East Koenig Lane.

Reports said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at 2:48 a.m. The vehicle involved left the scene, and the incident was classified as a hit-and-run.

All lanes of East Koenig Lane at Airport Boulevard remained closed as of 6:30 a.m. APD said the death was under investigation.
