INDEPENDENCE, CA (May 25, 2026) – Saturday night, a man died in a brutal pedestrian crash on M-291 Frontage Road and 3rd Terrace Court North.

The incident happened just before 11:20 p.m. on North M-291 Frontage Road and East 3rd Terrace Court North.

A man died after being struck by a vehicle while walking in an Independence neighborhood near North Frontage Road and Highway 291.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Buck, officers arrived to find the man lying in the roadway and immediately began life-saving measures. Paramedics later pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been publicly released.

Investigators said evidence indicates the man was hit by a vehicle while walking through the area. Authorities believe the driver left the scene before the crash was reported.

Police said no additional details about the collision were immediately available, and the investigation remains ongoing.
