KANSAS CITY, MO (February 22, 2026) – Saturday, a woman died in a brutal rear-end crash on Interstate 70 Westbound and Walnut Street.

The incident involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle happened at about 8:30 a.m. on Interstate 70 Westbound and Walnut Street.

Investigators said a Hyundai with a flat tire was stopped in a travel lane without its hazard lights on.

A tractor-trailer in the adjacent lane moved over to pass another semi and struck the rear of the disabled Hyundai, causing significant damage.

The Hyundai’s driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
