1 Dead and 4 Injured in Los Angeles Auto Accident near Breed and 1st Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 30, 2025) – Sunday night, a person died in a brutal single-vehicle crash near Breed and 1st Street.

The incident happened when a pickup truck rolled on its side and struck parked cars near Breed and 1st Street.

Police say a crash in Boyle Heights left one passenger dead and three others seriously injured, including three who had been riding in the bed of a truck. All five involved were described as young adults.

Witness Aaliyah Ortega, who recorded video at the scene, said the victims were ejected from the vehicle and noted nitrous oxide cans and balloons scattered nearby, raising suspicions of intoxication.

The suspected driver, seen shirtless in footage, was freed from the wreckage by firefighters but fled moments later, prompting a police pursuit. After a two-hour standoff near First Street and Chicago Avenue, the suspect surrendered.

Three victims were hospitalized, one in critical condition and two in serious condition. The identities of the victims and the suspect have not been released, and police have not yet announced charges.
