Brutal Solo-Car Crash on CR 523 Injures 2 Women [Butler County, MO]

Butler County, MO (November 9, 2024) On Friday evening, a horrific solo-car crash on CR 523 left 2 women with serious injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the disastrous crash happened at about 7 p.m. on County Road 523.

Reports say that 2 women suffered serious injuries when their vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree.

Authorities say the crash happened around 7 p.m. as a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling southbound on County Road 523, about four miles north of Poplar Bluff.

Officials say that the driver lost control, causing the car to run off the right side of the road and collide with a tree.

Emergency responders transported the 19-year-old driver from Poplar Bluff via Survival Flight to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas, for treatment.

Meanwhile, the passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Doniphan, was airlifted by Air EVAC to St. Louis University Hospital. Both women sustained serious injuries.

Authorities confirmed that both occupants were wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash.
