Brutal Solo-Car Crash on Highway 21 Claims a Life [Jefferson County, MO]

Jefferson County, MO (December 14, 2024) On Thursday morning, a person died while another was hurt after an early morning solo-car crash on Highway 21.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the deadly crash happened a about 3:05 a.m. near Konert Road.

Reports say that the single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman and injured a 25-year-old passenger.

Authorities say that a 2007 Ford Escape traveling northbound failed to navigate a curve. The vehicle veered off the road, struck a raised curb, and collided with construction machinery in the median.

The driver, a 22-year-old Hillsboro woman, was not wearing a seat belt and sustained fatal injuries. Emergency responders transported her to Mercy Hospital South, where she was pronounced dead at 3:59 a.m.

The 25-year-old passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to Mercy Hospital South by the Rock Township Ambulance District.

The crash caused extensive damage to the vehicle, which was towed by Miner’s Towing.
