MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MO (August 5, 2026) – Monday, a person died in a brutal tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 70 and 181 Mile Marker.

The incident happened on Interstate 70 and 181 Mile Marker.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, one person was killed, and another was injured in a crash involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 70.

Troopers said the collision occurred near the 181-mile marker. One of the truck drivers died at the scene, while the other driver sustained injuries.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reported the crash occurred in the westbound lanes at approximately 1:48 p.m. Motorists were advised to expect delays in the area for up to four and a half hours.

The crash followed two other serious incidents on the same stretch of Interstate 70 earlier that day, including a fatal motorcycle crash near the 182.2-mile marker and a truck fire near the 177-mile marker.
