Two Men Injured After Tesla Crashes Repeatedly Into Guardrails on I-90 Near Vantage

Vantage, WA (June 17, 2025) — Calvin Barnes and Quinton Jordan suffered injuries Monday morning after a Tesla struck multiple guardrails along Interstate 90 east of Vantage.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:37 a.m. on the westbound I-90 near milepost 140 in Grant County. Investigators said a 2018 Tesla traveling westbound veered off the roadway onto the north shoulder and hit a guardrail. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, crossed both westbound lanes, and collided with the guardrail on the south shoulder.

The Tesla continued crossing the roadway several times, grazing and striking guardrails on both sides, before finally coming to rest in the left westbound lane.

Reports say that the driver, 23-year-old Barnes from Seattle, sustained injuries and was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Meanwhile, Jordan, the 23-year-old passenger from Des Moines, was also hurt and was transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities reported that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Tesla was declared a total loss and removed from the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the collision. Officials have not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role, and potential charges remain under review.
