67-Year-Old Driver Killed, Passenger Seriously Hurt in Fresno County I-5 Rollover Crash

Fresno County, CA (June 21, 2025) — On Thursday, a 67-year-old man lost his life, and another person suffered serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Fresno County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. north of Gale Avenue. Investigators said a 2006 Mercedes was traveling northbound when it suddenly veered into the dirt median, spun across the freeway, crossed to the opposite side, and overturned over a guardrail.

The vehicle then traveled down an embankment before coming to rest on its side.

A passing motorist helped remove both occupants from the wrecked vehicle before emergency responders arrived. Despite life-saving efforts, the driver died at the scene. The passenger sustained severe injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities have not determined what caused the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
