1 Person Dead in Boone County Auto Accident on Hinkson Creek Road

BOONE COUNTY, MO (December 24, 2024) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested Carl Simon after a horrific police chase crash on Hinkson Creek Road.

The incident started when a driver fled the scene when authorities attempted a conduct a vehicle stop for a registration violation near Clark Lane and Ballenger Lane.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect vehicle crashed and ejected a 32-year-old passenger of the vehicle into the roadway of Hinkson Creek Road at around 12:30 a.m.

Moreover, responders pronounced the passenger, dead at the scene. Then, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Simon, fled the scene on foot after the crash.

Furthermore, officers managed to locate and arrest Simon in the 3100 block of Interstate 70 Drive SE in Columbia. Also, authorities confirmed that Simon will face Murder charges.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office continued investigating the crash.
