Phoenix, AZ (May 29, 2025) – 32-year-old Celeste Gomez died in a hot-and-run crash on 30th Avenue.

Two days after a hit-and-run collision took the life of a woman in west Phoenix, police are actively seeking the public’s help to identify the driver responsible.

Phoenix police reported that a vehicle struck and killed 32-year-old Celeste Gomez around 10 p.m. on May 27 near 30th Avenue and Van Buren Street. 

Investigators stated that Gomez was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when a car traveling west on Van Buren hit her and continued driving without stopping.

The vehicle fled the scene, and investigators later obtained a photo of the suspected car from a nearby security camera.

Authorities are now urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. 

Those who provide a tip leading to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $2,000 through Silent Witness.
