Ricardo Sandoval Arrested in Fatal San Antonio Bicycle Crash on Frio City Road

SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 15, 2025) – Saturday night, a crippling bicycle accident on 1000 Frio City Road left Cesar Armendariz, 48, dead. Ricardo Sandoval was arrested for DUI.

The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. in the 1000 block of Frio City Road.

According to a preliminary police report, a 54-year-old man was driving northeast on Frio City Road when he struck a 48-year-old bicyclist traveling ahead of him.

Police said the cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Later reports reveal that Cesar Armendariz did not survive.

The driver stayed at the scene, provided assistance, and cooperated with investigators. Officers later determined the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash, police said. Ricardo Sandoval is facing DUI charges, but there is no further notice on whether these charges will change.
