Woman Killed in Frightening Accident in Houston’s Third Ward

Houston, TX (December 12, 2025) — Late Tuesday evening, a woman died after a chain-reaction crash on McGowen Street.

According to Houston police, the fatal crash happened near Tierwester around 11:30 p.m. in Houston’s Third Ward.

Reports say that first responders found the woman pinned beneath a parked car.

Investigators determined she had stepped off the curb and was walking between parked vehicles when an oncoming driver collided with one of the cars. The impact forced that vehicle into her, sending her under a second parked car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four vehicles sustained damage in the incident. The driver who triggered the crash was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. Detectives are examining whether speeding or impairment contributed to the collision, and they have not yet determined if charges will follow.
