Chaz Castillo Dead in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 101 Freeway

Fatality Reported in Encino Traffic Collision

Encino, CA (April 26, 2026) – 19-year-old Chaz Castillo was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on 101 Freeway early Saturday morning.

The deadly vehicle crash happened before 2 a.m. on the northbound highway, south of White Oak Avenue.

Troopers said they received a report that a black sedan blocking the fast lane with its hazard lights, while a person, Chaz Castillo, was under a vehicle.

Police said a collision left a vehicle disabled was rear-ended by another vehicle.

Afterward, the vehicle that was following crashed into one of the occupants of the first vehicle, and two other vehicles.

Drivers were advised to move to the right shoulder while officers clear the scene.
