Cheryl Degeest Dies in Bicycle Accident on Chester Way

Cyclist Killed in Crash at North Davis Avenue and Chester Way in Tucson

Tucson, AZ (November 11, 2025) —53-year-old Cheryl Degeest died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening on Tucson’s northwest side.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the deadly collision happened around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of North Davis Avenue and Chester Way.

Authorities said a Ford Escape turning right onto Davis Avenue hit a cyclist from behind.

Reports say that Degeest was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

Deputies determined that neither impairment nor excessive speed contributed to the crash. The driver of the Ford Escape was cited for causing death or serious injury by moving violation and for failing to yield at a stop sign.
