WICHITA COUNTY, TX (April 20, 2025) – Friday afternoon, a child died in a devastating ATV crash on Hammon Road and Quincy Road.

The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. involving a juvenile on private property off Hammon Road and Quincy Road.

Wichita County Deputy Sheriff Melvin Joyner said a 12-year-old was taken from the scene in critical condition. 

The child later died from their injuries on the night of April 18.

The circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear at this time. The public will be notified once additional details become available.

Due to the limited information, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
