Santa Cruz, CA (November 13, 2025) – A California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer sustained minor injuries in a crash on Highway 17 near Summit Road on Thursday evening, authorities said.
According to an update from the CHP Santa Cruz area office, the incident occurred sometime before 6:54 p.m., prompting the closure of several lanes in both directions of Highway 17.
At that time, only one lane remained open in each direction, leading to heavy traffic delays.
