Repeat DUI Offender Charged With Murder After Deadly Fresno County Crash
Fresno County, CA (November 27, 2025) — 17-year-old Christian Crabb of Kingsburg died after a violent crash caused by a repeat DUI offender in Fresno County.
Authorities say the incident began around 1 a.m. when 27-year-old Daniel Lemus of Reedley rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light on Manning Avenue, then sped away south on Mendocino Avenue. Shortly afterward, Lemus slammed into the back of a Ford Mustang driven by Crabb. The teen suffered critical injuries and died several days later.
Investigators said Lemus was under the influence of alcohol during both crashes. His license had been suspended just a month earlier after a DUI arrest in Selma, where officers found his blood alcohol concentration to be above .15%.
This is also not Lemus’s first fatal DUI. In 2019, prosecutors say he ran a stop sign and broadsided another vehicle, killing an 8-year-old boy. He was later convicted of vehicular manslaughter in that case.
Now, prosecutors have charged Lemus with murder, calling this his second deadly DUI crash. He was arrested on November 25 and remains in the Fresno County Jail. If convicted, he could face 15 years to life in prison.
Sweet Lawyers extends our deepest condolences to the families of Christian Crabb and all those affected by this tragic loss.
