Ridgecrest Motorcyclist Killed in Highway 178 Crash

Bakersfield, CA (September 16, 2026) — 55-year-old Christopher Bermudez died Sunday evening after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Highway 178 in China Lake Acres.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Christopher Daniel Bermudez of Ridgecrest. The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on September 13 at the intersection of Highway 178 and Pinto Street.

Bermudez died at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
