PHOENIX, AZ (December 10, 2025) – Tuesday morning, Christopher Cartheuser died in a horrific 7-vehicle crash on Loop 202 near 32nd Street.

The incident happened at around 8:45 a.m. on the westbound Loop 202 near the 32nd Street on-ramp.

Authorities said a motorcyclist was pinned under a white commercial van. He was removed and taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. His name has not yet been released.

A woman from another vehicle was also taken to a hospital, though the severity of her injuries has not been confirmed, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The westbound Loop 202 was shut down at 40th Street for several hours and reopened just before noon. The investigation is ongoing.
