Van Driver Christopher Reaves Dead in I-44 Vehicle Crash

Virginia Man Loses Life Following Interstate 44 Deadly Traffic Accident

Springfield, MO (June 13, 2026) – Christopher Reaves, 46, of Hampton, Virginia, was killed in an I-44 vehicle crash Friday morning.

The fatal traffic crash happened before 12:15 a.m. on June 12, in a construction zone near Glenstone Avenue.

Police said a westbound SUV on the freeway, driven by Harlan King, 33, of Richland, struck a construction barrier.

The SUV then spun and struck a van that left the roadway and overturned.

Reaves, who was driving the van, was thrown and died at the crash scene.

Immediately, police responded and found King and his vehicle at the exit ramp at I-44 and Kansas Expressway. They arrested and booked him into the Greene County Jail for leaving the scene of a collision.
