The lost of a loved one in a car accident is devastating and leaves financial burden to the bereaved. While nothing can bring back a loved one, a settlement brought in a wrongful death claim can alleviate some of the financial burden and offer support during a very hard time.

A wrongful death claim is filed when one person dies due to another party’s negligence or wrongdoing. In fatal crashes, this often means the other driver’s behavior was negligent — they were speeding, distracted, impaired, or committing a traffic violation.

A wrongful death lawsuit enables the victim’s family to recover damages for:

  • Funeral and burial expenses
  • Medical bills related to the accident
  • Loss of income or future financial support
