Cindy Wiatrek Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 123 [Guadalupe County, TX]

Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Seguin Police Cruiser on State Highway 123

Guadalupe County, TX (November 27, 2025) — 67-year-old Cindy Wiatrek died early Wednesday after a Seguin police officer, driving a department-issued vehicle to work, struck her along State Highway 123 South in Guadalupe County.

According to Seguin police, Wiatrek was hit around 6 a.m. in the 14000 block of SH 123. The officer immediately notified the department after the collision. He has been placed on administrative leave while the Texas Department of Public Safety and Seguin police investigate the fatal crash.

DPS troopers confirmed Wiatrek died at the scene. No further details, including possible charges, have been released.
