Two Corpus Christi Women Killed, Five Hurt in Burleson County Collision
Burleson County, TX (July 21, 2026) — Clarissa Nunez and Diamantina Martinez died, and five others suffered injuries following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of State Highway 36 and FM 60 in Burleson County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. when a 2014 Kia Optima traveling on FM 60 attempted to make a left turn and failed to yield to a northbound 2020 Ford F-250 on State Highway 36.
Authorities identified the victims as 43-year-old Clarissa Nunez and 68-year-old Diamantina Martinez, both of Corpus Christi. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two children riding in the Kia, an 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy, sustained suspected serious injuries and were transported to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple.
The driver of the Ford and two passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Joseph Health in Bryan for treatment.
The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
