Clayton Word Dies in Pedestrian Crash on State Highway 114

Pedestrian Killed in Collision on SH 114 Near Davis Boulevard in Westlake

Westlake, TX (November 8, 2025) — 28-year-old Clayton Word lost his life Monday night after being hit by a vehicle along State Highway 114.

According to the Keller Police Department, the fatal incident happened around 9:40 p.m. near Davis Boulevard.

Reports say that multiple emergency units from Keller and Southlake responded to reports of a crash in the westbound lanes of SH 114. Officers found Word deceased at the scene.

Investigators with the North Texas Regional Crash Team reported that Word was crossing the roadway for reasons still under investigation when a westbound vehicle struck him. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Police said there is no indication that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
