Cody Justin Garcia Arrested in Alarming DUI Crash on 2400 West Wall Street [Midland, TX]

1 Person Hospitalized in Midland Auto Accident on 2400 West Wall Street

MIDLAND, TX (June 1, 2025) – Thursday night, authorities arrested Cody Justin Garcia after an alarming DUI crash on 2400 West Wall Street.

The incident happened around 10:54 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Wall Street.

According to the Midland Police Department, a 2021 Ford F-25O crossed multiple lanes and struck an officer who was standing at the rear of his marked patrol vehicle.

Moreover, responders rushed the officer to Midland Memorial Hospital with these injuries, including a complete break in his fibula, along with longitudinal and latitudinal fractures that would require surgery and an extensive recovery process.

Furthermore, paramedics transported the driver of the Ford, identified as 24-year-old Garcia of Lyford, Midland Memorial Hospital, with unknown injuries. 

Also, officers arrested Garcia for intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury to a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified. 

Due to limited information, the Midland Police Department continued investigating the crash.
