Rider Colby Matthew Sweet Killed in Wilmot Rd Collision [Tucson, AZ]

Tucson, AZ (May 4, 2026) – 42-year-old Colby Matthew Sweet was fatally injured following a Wilmot Rd collision Friday night.

The deadly motorcycle crash happened on May 1 near E Golf Links Road.

According to the authorities, a red 2015 Ram pickup was stopped at a stop sign on northbound Calle Polar.

Officers said the vehicle was attempting to turn left onto Golf Links Road.

Sweet was driving above the posted 40 mph speed limit and struck the stopped vehicle.

Responding officers declared Sweet deceased at the crash scene.

According to the authorities, the 37-year-old Ram driver was not impaired, and was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators said the Ram driver’s failure to yield at a stop sign and eSweet’s excessive speed were primary contributing factors in the fatal collision.

In the meantime, the authorities are conducting a further investigation into the accident.
