Milford Police reported that the collision occurred around 7:44 p.m. on the southbound I-35 near mile marker 382.

Reports say that a van carrying four people, including the twins, struck the rear of a slowing 18-wheeler. The truck had reduced speed because of traffic backups caused by an earlier, unrelated crash nearby.
