Shocking Traffic Collision Near Beltway 8 Injures Officer [Pasadena, TX]

Pasadena, TX (June 24, 2025) — A Pasadena Police Department patrol vehicle was involved in a collision near Beltway 8 Sunday afternoon while responding to a separate major crash in southeast Harris County.

The incident occurred around 2:59 p.m. on the southbound Red Bluff Road approaching Beltway 8. Authorities said officers were responding with emergency lights and sirens activated when the second police SUV in the response was struck by a northbound vehicle after the lead unit had already cleared the intersection.

According to investigators, traffic had stopped in the area, but the civilian vehicle traveling in the third northbound lane collided with the responding police SUV.

Two occupants of the civilian vehicle were taken to a hospital as a precaution after suffering minor injuries. The officer involved was also evaluated while completing an injury report. Authorities said no major injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation, and officials have not announced whether any citations will be issued.
