Multi-Car Collision on Almeda Road Results in Injuries [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (July 3, 2026) — A collision on Almeda Road involving a METRO bus and four other vehicles sent at least seven people to hospitals Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. in the 11000 block of Almeda Road. Emergency crews from the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene and transported seven people to area hospitals.

METRO Police reported that nine bus passengers initially complained of injuries, but only one passenger required hospitalization for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the driver of one of the vehicles struck the bus and then attempted to leave the scene. Houston Police later took the driver into custody. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
