E-Bicyclist Dies After Collision with Car on Grimmer Boulevard in Fremont

Fremont, CA (June 30, 2025) — A man riding an electric bicycle lost his life Saturday afternoon after a collision on Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont.

According to the Fremont Police Department, the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. near Auto Mall Parkway and Grimmer Boulevard, close to the Interstate 880 northbound onramp.

Reports say that the e-bicyclist was traveling east in a westbound bike lane when he collided with a westbound vehicle turning onto the northbound I-880 onramp.

Authorities say that the rider suffered severe head injuries and later died at a hospital. Meanwhile, the woman driving the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene, where she cooperated with investigators.

Police have not determined the cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the Fremont Police Department Traffic Unit. The incident marks Fremont’s sixth fatal traffic collision of 2026.
