Pedestrian Killed in Tragic Sacramento County Crash
Sacramento County, CA (May 25, 2025) — A pedestrian lost their lives Friday in a traffic collision on Capital City Freeway in Sacramento County.
According to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, a 28-year-old man died after a vehicle struck him in the southbound lanes of the Capital City Freeway north of El Camino Avenue.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.
The death adds to the growing number of traffic fatalities in Sacramento County this year. Coroner’s Office data shows nearly 80 people have died in traffic-related incidents so far in 2026, including more than 25 pedestrians.
Investigations into both crashes remain ongoing.
