Tragic Collision on County Road 20 Kills Motorcyclist [Orland, CA]

Orland, CA (September 5, 2026) — A 55-year-old Orland man died early Friday after a traffic collision on County Road 20 and County Road P, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened shortly before 4 a.m. on September 4. CHP reported that the motorcyclist was traveling west on County Road 20 at a high rate of speed as he approached County Road P. At the same time, a 30-year-old Chico woman drove a Kia Niro north on County Road P.

The motorcycle struck the side of the SUV after the rider failed to stop at the intersection. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released his identity while they notify his family.

Investigators are also determining whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision.
