Tragic Traffic Collision on East Capitol Expressway Kills Woman [San Jose, CA]

San Jose, CA (September 28, 2026) — Early Friday, a tragic collision on East Capitol Expressway claimed the life of a woman riding a bicycle.

San Jose police responded to the intersection around 6:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a bicyclist; reports say that a pickup truck struck the cyclist at East Capitol Expressway and Ocala Avenue.

Investigators determined that the white 2017 Ford F-350 was traveling north on Capitol Expressway when it struck the woman as she traveled east on Ocala Avenue.
