Frightening Collision on Highway 36 Under Investigation [Linn County, MO]

Linn County, MO (March 25, 2026) — A 67-year-old Purdin man lost his life Monday morning following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 36 in Linn County.

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 36 and Missouri Highway 5 in Laclede.

Authorities said the man was driving an SUV southbound on Highway 5 when he entered the path of a westbound SUV.

Reports say that the oncoming vehicle struck his SUV, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged in the median. Emergency responders rushed the Purdin man to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, where he later died from his injuries.

The other driver, a 32-year-old man from Brookfield, suffered minor injuries.
