Multi-Car Collision on Highway 87 Injures 3 People [Howard County, MO]

Howard County, MO (August 21, 2026) — Three people suffered serious injuries Wednesday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 87 in Howard County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 32-year-old Mendon man was driving a 2013 Ford Explorer south on Highway 87 near Highway 187 when he crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 75-year-old Salisbury woman.

The impact caused the Explorer to overturn. The Equinox then left the roadway and collided with a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by a 22-year-old Glasgow man.

Emergency crews took the Salisbury woman and Glasgow man to University Hospital by ambulance. The Mendon man also suffered serious injuries but declined transportation to a hospital.

The crash totaled the Explorer and Equinox, while the Fusion sustained moderate damage. Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
