Two Injured in Wrong-Way Head-On Crash on I-15 in Victorville
Victorville, CA (August 3, 2026) — Two drivers suffered injuries after a wrong-way head-on collision on Interstate 15 in Victorville early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. on August 2, just south of Palmdale Road. Emergency crews from the Victorville Fire Department, Victorville Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene.
Investigators said the driver of a 2025 Nissan Versa entered the northbound I-15 from the Palmdale Road on-ramp in the wrong direction before colliding head-on with a 2023 VinFast. The impact left both vehicles with extensive front-end damage.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the trapped Nissan driver from the wreckage. Paramedics transported both drivers to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment. Authorities have not released updates on their conditions.
The collision forced officials to temporarily shut down the northbound freeway while crews cleared the scene and investigators gathered evidence. At least one lane reopened shortly after 7:00 a.m. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
