Head-On Collision on Missouri Route 367 Injures 2 [Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO]

Bellefontaine Neighbors, MO (August 3, 2026) — Two men suffered injuries following a head-on collision on Missouri Route 367 in Bellefontaine Neighbors Sunday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 9:50 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Chambers Road.

Investigators said Moline Acres police attempted to stop a 31-year-old driver after noticing his vehicle had a flat tire and was traveling without headlights.

The driver allegedly crossed the center line, entered the wrong side of the highway, and came to a stop before a 63-year-old motorist collided with his vehicle head-on.

The impact ejected the 31-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt. Emergency crews transported him to a hospital with serious injuries, while the other driver sustained minor injuries.

Authorities temporarily closed both directions of Route 367 as crews cleared the scene. The roadway reopened shortly before 1:00 a.m.

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to install traffic barriers along a section of Route 367 to improve safety after a series of serious crashes in the corridor. Officials are also evaluating additional measures to reduce collisions.
