2-Car Collision on Missouri Route 74 Led to Injuries [Cape Girardeau County, MO]

Cape Girardeau County, MO (June 27, 2025) — Two women from Zalma were injured Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle collision on Missouri Route 74 in Cape Girardeau County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:30 a.m., about one mile west of Cape Girardeau. Investigators said a 23-year-old man driving a pickup truck westbound turned into the path of an eastbound car, causing the car to strike the side of the truck.

The 64-year-old driver of the car suffered serious injuries, while her 37-year-old passenger sustained moderate injuries. Ambulances transported both women to a local hospital for treatment.

The pickup truck driver was not injured. Troopers reported that all three occupants were wearing seat belts and that both vehicles were totaled in the collision.
