Paratransit Bus Flips in Spokane Valley After Jeep Fails to Yield
Spokane Valley, WA (February 15, 2026) — A paratransit bus in Spokane Valley flipped onto its side Thursday morning after a shocking T-bone collision on North McDonald Road.
According to authorities, a Jeep T-boned the bus’s driver side at the intersection of North McDonald Road and East Valleyway Avenue.
Spokane Valley firefighters arrived just before 11:30 a.m. All three people involved escaped serious injury. The Jeep driver failed to yield the right of way, causing the collision, and received a civil infraction. The Jeep driver and the bus passenger were transported to the hospital for precautionary evaluations, while the bus driver declined treatment.
The bus was heading southbound when the westbound Jeep struck its center, causing it to tip over. STA spokesperson Carly Cortwright noted that all paratransit vehicles undergo strict safety testing and that passengers are safely secured. Officials said the limited number of occupants and safety measures helped prevent serious injuries.
