Head-On Collision on Ocean View Boulevard Injures 3 People [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (January 5, 2025) — Three people suffered serious injuries, including one man in critical condition, following a head-on collision on Ocean View Boulevard in San Diego’s Mountain View neighborhood.

According to authorities, the crash occurred Thursday evening in the 3800 block of Ocean View Boulevard.

Investigators determined that a 33-year-old man driving a Volkswagen Passat westbound crossed into the opposite lane and struck a Kia Soul traveling eastbound.

The 61-year-old woman driving the Kia sustained a leg injury, while her 63-year-old passenger suffered a broken femur. The driver of the Volkswagen was transported to a hospital with internal injuries described as life-threatening.

Authorities reported that alcohol played a role in the crash. San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division continues to investigate the incident.
