Shocking 2-Vehicle Collision on River Road Injures 2 People [Grand Junction, CO]

Grand Junction, CO (December 12, 2025) — On Thursday afternoon, 2 people were hospitalized after a 2-vehicle collision on River Road.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 1:55 p.m. near River Road and Railroad Boulevard in Grand Junction and temporarily blocked a lane of traffic.

Colorado State Patrol reported that both occupants of the pickup had to be extricated from the vehicle. Their injury conditions were not immediately available. The roadway reopened at approximately 2:35 p.m.

While responding to the incident, a Grand Junction Fire Department engine was involved in a minor secondary collision when Engine 3 made low-speed contact with another vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the Grand Junction Police Department is investigating the secondary crash.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
