Driver Killed After Vehicle Crosses Median in San Marcos Crash

San Marcos, CA (December 25, 2025) — On Tuesday afternoon, a fatal two-vehicle collision on San Elijo Road claimed the life of a driver after a sedan crossed into oncoming traffic.

Deputies responded to the crash around 3:00 p.m. on San Elijo Road. Investigators determined that a woman driving a Nissan Sentra westbound lost control, crossed the median, and collided with an oncoming Honda CR-V.

The Sentra’s driver died at the scene. The driver of the Honda CR-V sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities reported that she is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The San Marcos Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit continues to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
