Big Rig Collision on State Route 247 Prompts EMS Response [Lucerne Valley, CA]

Lucerne Valley, CA (July 10, 2026) — On Thursday morning, a collision on State Route 247 involving two semi-trucks shut down the intersection of Old Woman Springs Road and Barstow Road in Lucerne Valley, triggering a SIG Alert and a large emergency response.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:55 a.m. Initial reports indicate a red semi-truck traveling on Old Woman Springs Road collided with a white double-trailer semi as it crossed the four-way stop-controlled intersection at Barstow Road.

The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. The red semi sustained extensive front-end damage, while one of the white semi’s trailers detached during the collision. Rocks being transported by the white truck spilled across the roadway, along with vehicle debris.

Authorities said both drivers exited their trucks after the crash and were reported to have possible injuries. The red semi was transporting ammonium nitrate, while the other truck was hauling rocks, prompting cleanup crews to carefully remove debris and spilled materials.
