SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA (April 23, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, authorities arrested Consellatia Martin after a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 280.

The incident happened at about 2:38 p.m. on Interstate 280.

According to reports, a white 2010 Ford traveled north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 280. Then, it collided with a black 2019 BMW SUV heading south in the fourth lane, near State Route 92.

Then, authorities confirmed that the BMW driver died at the scene of the crash. Officers described her as a Caucasian woman in her 40s.

Moreover, the 14-year-old boy in the front passenger seat of the BMW was transported to Stanford Medical Center with “major” injuries.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old driver of the Ford, Constellatia A. Martin, was arrested on a suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Authorities transported her to Stanford for treatment of major injuries.

Moreover, the authorities haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Also, a toxicology report remained pending.

Also, the incident shut down three of the lanes in the area for over an hour, but CHP reopened the lanes at 6 p.m.
