Two Injured After Reckless Driver Triggers Three-Vehicle Crash in Hemet

Hemet, CA (April 29, 2026) — On Monday afternoon, 2 people suffered injuries after a reckless driver caused a chain-reaction crash at East Florida Avenue and Laursen Street in Hemet.

The incident unfolded around 4:29 p.m. when a driver operating a black Corvette lost control while attempting to change lanes. The vehicle slammed into a stopped Mini Cooper, forcing it forward into a nearby water line and gas main enclosure, stopping just short of a building.

The impact left the Mini Cooper driver hurt and in need of medical attention. Responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. A woman riding in a Toyota Highlander, which the Corvette struck moments later, also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Emergency crews arrived expecting a possible structure collision but instead found multiple damaged vehicles and hazardous infrastructure concerns. Authorities temporarily closed the roadway as crews worked to secure the scene and assess the damage.
