Pedestrian Crash on Near South Lamar Boulevard Kills 1 [Austin, TX]

Austin, TX (July 3, 2025) – Late Tuesday night, a vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian in a parking lot crash near South Lamar Boulevard and Barton Skyway in South Austin.

According to the Austin Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m., prompting multiple 911 calls reporting the collision.

Responding officers found the pedestrian suffering from severe trauma. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by police, EMS, and fire personnel, the individual was pronounced dead at approximately 10:40 p.m.

Authorities have classified the case as Austin’s 32nd homicide of the year, suspecting foul play. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to gather more details. As of now, no suspect or suspect vehicle has been identified.
