Frightening Crash on 110th Avenue Northeast Under Investigation [Bellevue, WA]

25-Year-Old Arrested After High-Speed Multi-Vehicle Crash in Downtown Bellevue

Bellevue, WA (July 27, 2026) — A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault following a multi-vehicle crash on 110th Avenue Northeast in downtown Bellevue on the night of July 25.

According to Bellevue police, the collision happened around 9:50 p.m. at the intersection of 110th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Eighth Street.

Investigators said the driver was traveling westbound at a high speed before crashing into several vehicles waiting at the intersection.

Authorities reported that no one involved sustained life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders treated several injured people at the scene, while others were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation.

Police said officers had been conducting proactive patrols targeting vehicles with modified exhaust systems before the crash. During the operation, officers spotted the suspect driving a vehicle with a loud muffler near 108th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Fourth Street but lost sight of the vehicle before the collision happened.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the King County Jail on one count of vehicular assault. Authorities continue to investigate the crash and may release additional information as it becomes available.

Bellevue police noted that speeding and excessive vehicle noise remain enforcement priorities through the department’s Safer Roads Initiative. The agency also reported significant increases in speeding, distracted driving, and overall traffic citations compared with the same period last year.

When you’re behind the wheel, remember—you’re not alone out there. Every time you drive, you’re part of a community that shares the road. That’s why it’s so important to stay alert, drive responsibly, and respect others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you; it keeps your loved ones, neighbors, and even total strangers safe too.

If we all do our part—slow down, stay focused, and avoid distractions—we can make the roads safer for everyone.

And don’t forget the simplest safety tip of all: always buckle up. Whether you’re the driver or a passenger, wearing your seatbelt is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent serious injury in a crash. Sweet Lawyers encourages everyone to make it a habit—every trip, every time.

Speeding dramatically increases the risk of serious crashes and injuries. Obey posted speed limits, stay alert behind the wheel, and avoid reckless driving to help keep everyone on the road safe. If you or a loved one has been injured in a traffic collision caused by a negligent driver, understanding your legal rights can be an important step toward recovery.
